Accountant

Our client is a well-established fiduciary based in Ixelles, Brussels. Their small, close-knit team enables staff to work with a wide variety of clients. These clients are located throughout Belgium and operate in dynamic, high-value-added sectors (such as law firms, architectural practices, consultancy firms, etc.). As part of its ongoing growth, the firm is looking to recruit an experienced accountant capable of managing a portfolio independently, whilst actively contributing to the life of the firm.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Managing a portfolio of Belgian companies from start to finish: data entry, month-ends, balance sheets, VAT returns, ISOC, IPP
• Actively participating in client advisory work, liaising directly with in-house legal and tax specialists
• Contributing to digitalisation initiatives and the continuous improvement of internal processes
• Working closely with the partners and, depending on your aspirations, progressing towards supervisory or team management responsibilities

PROFILE

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or have equivalent experience
• You have at least 3–5 years’ experience in the comprehensive management of accounting files
• You are fluent in spoken and written French (C2) and ideally have a working knowledge of English
• You are able to work independently
• You are meticulous, organised and solution-oriented
• You have excellent communication skills and a professional, proactive approach to clients
• You have a good knowledge of one or more accounting software packages such as Winbooks or Exact
• You are organised, meticulous and able to manage several accounts simultaneously
• You are capable of acting as an advisor to your clients
• You enjoy client contact, the variety of accounts, and demanding yet supportive environments
• You have a genuine interest in tax advice, even without being a specialist
• You wish to develop your career within a solid, stable firm renowned for the quality of its training
